Well the final tally is in, and the absolute shittiest band ever is hands down... Wham. Limp Bizkit came close (Wes Borland, their former guiter player kicked ass but Fred Durst makes me want to puke my intestines out my nose). I was kinda hoping that Good Charlotte would win this since they are such flagrant pretty-boy pansies trying to be punk, but I suppose it would be a travesty if anyone but Wham won a poll like this.

Moving on. Talked to Steven and Jessie until about 4am last night online. Steven's confused, and I feel bad for him since I've been there, but he'll work it out eventually and be fine. Oh yeah, bowling was last night also. Some welcome faces showed, but notable absentees were Phil, the LaCarters, and the Pavliceks. I never seem to get enough time to talk to Phil and Allen lately, but that's alright though. Phil's charming self is courting Anh, and Allen and I have been meeting and hanging out with a lot of different people from and outside of work. This summer has been really good at AMC, staff-wise; there's a lot of really nice and fun people working there. A real shame about Michelle though, she was one of my favorites.

Well now I know what Allen was talking about; I have no idea how many people are reading this thing, but from what I'm told it might a lot more than I think. What if, somehow, somewhere, Wierd Al Yankovic and Christopher Lambert are reading my blog? Ok, now that would be the coolest thing... EVER. I could go up to people and say, "Oh yeah? Well the HIGHLANDER reads my weblog! Eat that!"

Ok you know how Queen did that one song "Princes of the Universe" or something for Highlander? Well they made a music video. And Christopher Lambert was in it. And not only that, Christopher Lambert had a swordfight with Freddie Mercury, the singer of Queen. That also was very cool. An example of good use of a movie star in a video for the movie. What's an example of bad use, you might ask? Angelina Jolie in the Korn video for the new Tomb Raider movie. Jonathan Davis was singing with his H.R. Giger designed mic stand, just being Jon Davis... and then up comes Angelina Jolie. When the song gets to the intense part and Davis is singing, she comes up to him and they both mouth the words to the song face to face. I'm sorry, but Angelina Jolie doing the "intense heavy metal grimace face" and singing next to Jon Davis just doesn't do it for me.

I'm halfway through my little mini-vacation. Talked to Brandon Portilla today, anyone remember him? When he was at AMC, during his box shift one day while it was busy I walked out to see what was up and he was sitting on the floor singing "Jesus loves me" to himself. Classic.

Now then, I was going to talk about this Perfect Circle cover song. For those who don't know, the singer of the band Tool (Maynard Keenan) did a side project called A Perfect Circle, it's a very interesting and different experience. There's a song they covered live while on tour, and may be on the next CD as a studio version. The thing is, it's not one cover song, it's two. Ozzy Osbourne had a song called "Diary of a Madman", and The Cure had one called "Love Song". Most of you might not have heard the former, but I'm sure you've all heard Love Song. Anyways, they somehow covered both songs at once. It begins with the intro to "Madman", then it kicks into the music of Love Song. But while they're playing the music from Love Song, Maynard is singing the words to Madman, and he makes the lyrics fit, both in tempo and harmony. It doens't stay this way though; after singing the first verse of Madman, he combines lyrics from both songs to make an astoundingly coherent song. As you might guess, Love Song is about, well.. love, and Madman is about a man sitting in his attic going insane watching people walk around on the street being happy while he's pained by his madness. Maynard's song, with lyrics carefully mixed together, is about a man who loves someone so much it drives him insane. As only he could do, Maynard took something pre-existing and made it his own. Also, the musicians are all very competent, so the song is pulled off very well. I may be biased, but to me the song is absolutely beautiful. Everyone REALLY needs to listen to this song and "Psychopomp" by the Tea Party. If you want to find it online, just search for "Perfect Circle Diary cover" or something to that effect.

I wonder how many people read this silly ass thing. If I announced that I am the new Galactic Emperor of Pubic Hair, how many people would even know?

Well the roommates have thier 2 year anniversary tomorrow. Excuse me while I go ralph all over the place. Yes, thank you, I can see that you're in a relationship. I don't need to be reminded by a bajillion roses sitting around the living room and you guys making kissey noises to each other all day. Seriously, I thought those two would be the LAST people in the world to end up all cutesy. I think I'll spend the day out tomorrow, maybe go watch a hobo shit himself. It'd make me much less queasy.
